The everyday AI companion is integrated across Microsoft 365 suite to help automate the workflows and introduce optimisation into the processes. With that being said, Microsoft is always on the lookout for improvement.

This article explores what Microsoft has in store for Microsoft Copilot for the year 2025. We will look into the significant in-progress updates that will ultimately enhance the platform’s experience.

Make Notes from Videos and Images

Microsoft is introducing the amazing functionality of making notes from a specified video or image. This feature will be available in the OneNote Android mobile application. With its introduction, the need to manually watch and re-watch the video(s) to make notes will be completely eradicated.

Microsoft will roll out this feature starting in June 2025.

Prioritise and Summarise your Emails

With this new feature, you can mark your emails as high priority and generate their summary. Additionally, you can filter and access the summaries of marked emails in a few clicks.

Microsoft will roll out this feature starting in June 2025.

Creating Presentation from a Word File

This feature is quite interesting as it gives you the right starting point for your presentation-making process. Convert your Word document into a first draft of your presentation in a single click. However, do note that this feature will only be available to commercial customers on OneDrive Web.

Microsoft will roll out this feature starting in April 2025.

Recap and Summarise your Meetings

With this update, you can use Copilot to select any available meeting recordings on your OneDrive and summarise them for important points and action items. It also helps you spot the parts where you were mentioned. Note that this feature will only be available on OneDrive Web and to commercial customers.

Microsoft will roll out this feature starting in March 2025.

Summarise the Files in Teams Chat

This feature allows you to summarise the files in one-on-one or group Teams chats. With a simple one-click functionality, Copilot can generate a summary and highlight action items of the shared Word or PDF file. Note that this feature is available only for users having Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license.

Microsoft will roll out this feature starting in February 2025.

These and many more interesting features around Microsoft Copilot are on the Microsoft 365 roadmap. It's truly going to be a year with a significant involvement of Artificial Intelligence in day-to-day business processes and operations.
